For the record, the well documented lack of torque between 2500 - 3500 rpm seems to improve with the miles. After 1400 miles around France a few weeks ago, and just under 6000 on the clock now, mine does seem to be pulling better, though the real power is still over 4000.

My handbrake has improved a little too, since a I removed a rivnut which was directly in line with the cable, such that the cable was actually rubbing it when taught. Thanks to Stefan for the heads up on that.

Some manufacturers offer their dealer network access to "auction" vehicles. I've been offered a Jaguar on a similar basis to my above suggestion.

How do we find out the condition/history/servicing details of the car ? What condition is it in and why is it being auctioned ? And what does the £29k mean as they cost £59k apporox from new ?Colour ?

IT was bought new by a dealer if my memory serves me right.
He has advertised it for months at over 55k
