I suspect that a Trad (with a rack) has more luggage space.

It would need to be an awfully big rack...

Anyone who's managed to pack the nooks & crannies of a trad will enjoy making best use of the S5's storage.

No I asked Hillsalive when I first got the car. It took sometime to get a response but it was basically a no.

In my car they are literally two pieces of painted ali book section. A couple of pieces of wood would have been nicer.

I've made contact with a luggage manufacturer and sent then over some pictures and sketches, I'll let you know how this progresses.

I'm guessing they changed that detail in later cars (mine's a Nov '16 delivery) as I have two lacquered wood 'runners' that match the interior.

Please do keep me posted on bespoke luggage solution, I'd be very interested in a set too....

We find it is soft leather bags all the way, the issue is to make sure the line is clear where the struts fold down.
Also, if the roof is up there is also considerable space inside its compartment, which can act like a large parcel shelf. Certainly room for jackets, hats and scarves etc.

Would you mind posting a picture?
I'd really be curious to see the upgraded version.

I've been in regular contact with Hillsalive of recent. They have confirmed that they plan to make fitted luggage for the Series 5 but are having difficulty locating a car near to them from which they can take the necessary measurements.

Is there an owner close by that could help? I believe they are located close to Sutton Coldfield. If so please contact Heather at Hillsalive. Failing that I've offered to drop by in early August on my way down to friend's wedding in Somerset - assuming the weather is fine and I opt to take the Aero that is.

I'm probably only 30 minutes from Sutton Coldfield so I would be happy to drop mine. Only problem is I contacted Hills Alive around the time I got my Aero last October. They finally got back to me asking me if I could bring my car over. I responded I would but never heard anything again from them on arranging dates etc.!!!

LuckyWhite - if you have a contact there can you PM the details and I'll make contact. Cheers

I had the same response as Rob from Hillsalive.

In my hunt around I found some who Hillsalive were trying to sub luggage production out too. He's got the dimensions for a boot and should be getting back to me with some cost shortly.

Once in got these I'll let you all know.

Spoke to Rob at Hills Alive yesterday. Good chap. He's coming to measure my S5 on Monday. I'll keep you all updated.
