I remember our rush into the ice age in the 70s, the elimination of European forests caused by acid rain in the 80s and now I am happy that global warming offers something else to be afraid of...

On the sailing forums MMGW rivals only Brexit in terms of the amount of bile and disagreement generated. Lets talk about cars or sailing or even gardening instead.

All I can say is: put the hood up and turn on the aircon. You don't have aircon? Well I'm sorry but you can always have it fitted smile

It is interesting that 600 heavy transports ships create as much polution as all the cars on the planet (Telegraph). Perhaps China and South Korea have special permits. This global warming scam started in 1990 with Professor Hensen. By now, remember the hockey stick, we should have summers like the South of France and growing palm trees.

Don't get me wrong I applaud the increase in mpg, the far cleaner rivers and coasts. I just think that a lot of people, and scientists, are jumping on the band wagon for self interest. Renewables should stand on their own two feet without me being forced to pay an extra £150 on my energy bill.

I'd be a lot more impressed if large companies were NOT allowed to trade carbon credits, surely that defeats the object notworthy

Yes, it does seem a bit of a cop-out. The attitude that "I can't be arsed to reduce my carbon footprint so I'll pay you to reduce yours" is pants, really.

Still, I suppose it's better than "I can't be arsed to reduce my carbon footprint and I don't see why I should make any financial contribution towards anyone else doing it either"
