Hi everybody, Kurt here. in my handbook there is an explanation for only a few tell tale lamps on the dashboard. Now, after four years of driving my 4/4 Sport (2011) a light has come on I've never seen before and for which there is no explanation in my handbook. It is the light left to the one that shows you "lights on".It is yellow, looks like an ice crystal and goes on when I turn the fan to "on". Please excuse if this is a newby question, but I have no idea what it means. Thanks for all answers.
Kurt.

Kurt again. Does it only indicate that the fan is on?
I ASSURE YOU : IT NEVER WENT ON UNTIL TODAY. I really hope this doesn't sound too stupid for all you experts out there.

There should be a light on when the fan is on. So do you now see 2 lights?

Hi John, thanks for quick answer. No,its just the one I have described. But as I said : it never went on the last four years. Never seen it before. so its just an indicator for a switched on fan ?

Hi John, I'll take it as a feature: fan indicator light glows the first time after 4 years of driving. BIG SMILE.

Sounds like it could be the air con symbol?

It is the aircon symbol. You should have a blank switch. Press it once and the symbol will extinguish.

PROBLEM SOLVED.
John, hugo, meabh, thank you very much.
It was indeed the blank switch, which I've had never used before, as I thought it was an empty switch of no importance. I must have switched it on by accident. And ta,ta there it was for the first time : my air con Symbol.
Best to all, Kurt.

Kurt, I've had my 4/4 from new 2011. Never seen that light on either. Today I tried the redundant switch. Yep Air Con light comes on, but only if the fan switch is on also. Interesting I wonder where the air con wire tails, protrude from the the wiring loom. Wondering if it would be OK to leave the switch on & use the telltale light as a reminder the heater fan is running. Whatever seems to blow my ideas of using the switch for some spots/fog lights.

I have kept my yellow air con light operational to indicate heater fan running since I first discovered it about 4 years ago. No ill effects to report.
