I erected the hood at the weekend (first time since November) and noticed those black marks on the interior where the frame rubs. So a length of cycle inner tube slit and velcro"d in place solves that one. I know but I.m late to the party !

This may sound stupid, but isn't inner tube black ? Wouldn't a bit of light grey pipe insulation be the thing ?

As long as it doesn't transfer black to the lining it's okay I think. Time will tell.

The tape decays and can end up a sticky mess I have found used in previous applications. If you have stainless hoops they make an opaque version which might suit.

I would suggest Spiwrap a cable loom forming tool.

Hi I have the same issue, what do you use to remove the marks from the inner hood, ive tried good old fashioned elbow grease and hot water to no avail.

Use soft top cleaner and a soft nail brush. Rinse frequently and keep going. Watermarks can be cleared with a spray.

More recent hoods are black inside.

I use a small quantity of Vanish Upholstery Mousse, which seems to work well.
