Today at the FoS
Some snaps from today. In our minds, the custom American car (origins unknown) won the prize of car of the show. The side on view is of Fiat GP 1911 chassis number 1. Won the USA GP of that year. All original, the engine (14 Lt 4 cylinders) is not bored out but cast as an egg shell, hence very thin wall. No other exist, because of water contamination to the engine walls. Value of car - we were afraid to ask. Other pics to follow.

Nice pics Steve but where were you??? I was there, honest. I did not see anyone I know apart from Richard Thorne and Uncle Melvyn, who were both very busy. The Morgan stand was very busy when we where there.

I Love that auburn speedster. Wonder if a certain Mr Hetfield would ever consider selling. Still I probably couldn't afford it anyway...

Don't really like it. Looks so overwrought next to Cords and whatnot. Maybe I'm just boring!

Yes indeed, also Ray 1550 and David of SW19? Well it looks like Ray 1550 went today, as he whizzed past me on the A3 going the other way (northbound, away from GW)

I'm afraid that I consider it almost sacrilege to make a custom car out of an Auburn Speedster. If you want to go the custom route, then Cadzilla takes it in my book! It still looks fantastic, Boyd Coddington was a Custom God and ZZTop's Gibbon an absolute star for stumping up the circa $1.0 mill it cost to build. Anyway, another great show Goodwood - something for everyone!
