Today at the FoS

Some snaps from today.

In our minds, the custom American car (origins unknown) won the prize of car of the show.

The side on view is of Fiat GP 1911 chassis number 1. Won the USA GP of that year. All original, the engine (14 Lt 4 cylinders) is not bored out but cast as an egg shell, hence very thin wall. No other exist, because of water contamination to the engine walls. Value of car - we were afraid to ask. innocent

Other pics to follow.

I'm afraid that I consider it almost sacrilege to make a custom car out of an Auburn Speedster. If you want to go the custom route, then Cadzilla takes it in my book! somestick

'Cor Aeroman, what a beauty that Cadzilla is envy

Completely agree that the Auburn is not really the 'proper' starting point for a custom, considering their natural beauty and their relative rareness these days. A guilty pleasure on my part, and something that I figure you can only really get away with if you are the lead singer of Metallica..

Loved cadzilla too - the paint seems to be a mile deep the finish is so perfect and the interior...

What I particularly love about goodwood, and even more so in the custom area is that these relatively priceless cars are left without barriers. A testament to the respect of the public not to touch and the owners gererosity and confidence in the FOS.

I've started my cadzilla fund, only another $999,949 to go...
