the evidence is pointing to a GTI, but a used AMG A45 cannot be excluded....

Thanks chaps...
We are going to wait a year and then look again.
At this point a Golf GTI looks the best answer, or perhaps even a Golf R... but an AMG A45 cannot be excluded.
Whatever we get it will be 3 to 4 years old, not buying new. Unless MMC bring out a +4 shooting brake!

A relatively "regular" option, I like the shape of the current C class station. You can choose from very standard up to AMG options and she is very usable for all purposes you could thing about. You could drive a fast but very understatement car. And she is not so huge in comparison to an E class. Of course the look of the AMG GT is awesome.
