Still expensive. I recall being offered one by the factory for 65k with a similar spec albeit manual, and maybe just 2 years ago.

There are no similar cars to be honest with that chassis and engine - the Bristol is the only one, and that's priced at £250k.
The B&C car is an interesting spec.
I recall opening the door of an Aston Vanquish in a showroom many years ago - to see a vivid red interior. The salesman said "it is rather 'sudden' sir, isn't it?'.

May have accidentally put down a deposit on a "Hooded Speedster" this morning at Williams!!. I will have to say good bye to my 163BHP 4/4 Competition which I have loved driving- but time for a new chapter. I hope I enjoy the car as much as you seem to have. I will look after it......

Took my Labrador, Barney , with me to Williams I think he cut the deal with one of the Spaniels.
That and a soundtrack from the exhaust better than a Robin Trower solo at full volume.

Took my Labrador, Barney , with me to Williams I think he cut the deal with one of the Spaniels.
That and a soundtrack from the exhaust better than a Robin Trower solo at full volume. That is the only logical explanation. It is widely known that Williams have no sales people. The spaniels size up visitors, take them to the car they will buy and then Paul comes over to confirm the deal. Your Barney will have known what you really wanted, talked to the Spaniel on duty and you had no choice. No matter, it is a stunning car and you, Barney and anyone else in your household will be so very happy with the "Hooded Speedster" or "Closet Plus 8"!! Welcome to the Aero chassis Plus 8 world, they are, in the opinion of a number here, the best car Morgan has made in the last 10 years...

Thanks Peter. It will be a big change from what I am used to - but I'm very much looking forward to getting the car now and giving it a blast.
I was surprised when I did the test drive just how good the chassis was .

It is as good as most modern sports cars and better than some. Not bad for an almost 20 year old design. But it was developed as a Le Mans Prototype for 2002, so it should be good. It does have a couple of quirks, particularly the steering which is fast and seems to wind up with lock. Couple this to a light back end and it can be "interesting"! The lock is pathetic, thank goodness for power steering! I tend to leave the car in Drive rather than Sport when the road and tyres are cold, and always if the road is wet. Tarka has 19" Aeromax wheels and the choice of tyres is limited to Summer Tyres. With 18" wheels all season tyres are possible. And read the threads on Sump Protection, the oil filter is a bit exposed.... Overall it is a delightful car, quick, comfortable and eye-catching. I will only sell Tarka if I find a "better" Plus 8, or if I need the money: it represents 2 years plus drawdown pension money from my SIPP! Photos of the car would be good!
