Trip to Malvern, North Devon & Wiltshire

Well, we covered 651 miles in the week, all hood down, and mostly avoiding MWays. We saw two other Morgans. A black 4/4Sport in Upper Colwall, and an Indigo Blue car just outside Tewkesbury. I managed to drive some of my favourite roads. The A438 Ledbury-Tewkesbury is a fast sweeping road. Then in North Devon is the A396 from Dunster to Wheddon Cross followed by the B3223 via Simondsbath to Hillsford Bridge. What a great road that is - no traffic........
From Salisbury, the A360 to Devizes, then the A361 to Beckhampton - A4 to Marlborough - A346 to Swindon, then the boring bit (A419), before taking the B4425 from Cirencester to Burford via Bibury. This is another great sweeping B road, with few other cars. From Burford I favour the A361 to Chipping Norton, then A3400 as far as the Fosse which we usually take as far as the A5. Then it's not quite so good!!

The pictures: first one is as we arrived, and they allowed me to park in the only drop off space until we'd had lunch...........
The second photo is the parking space next to the accomodation block. The third shows that my Mog does get wet!! Number four is taken at North Walk, Lynton, North Devon. Number five & six on arrival at the farm near Salisbury. The final two are as we left...... This is one of my favourite locations. Very good parking and excellent B&B.

MrsW is now fully bought into Morgan motoring, and wants to do it all again soon!!!!! grin2

Brilliant settings and photos and of course an equally (if not more) brilliant car ! You must have had a great time and I'm sure we will all want to know your future holiday dates so we can be assured of excellent weather as well !

Regards,

John

DaveW,
hope that you dont indulge in the wife swap show on TV.
Morganeer wives are so precious and hard to find.
Better book her up for next year before the rush!
Don't forget to reserve the seat and headrest.......... sunny

Funny how I usually see more Morgans out on the road when I'm not driving mine...

Hoping to use RTA for next week's trip to Porthmadog, but I have a feeling SWMBO wants to go in the black car...

Looks a good trip Dave - thanks for sharing.

Sounds like a great holiday Dave with lovely venues.
Choosing Wimbledon Fortnight is a fair bet for the good stuff. sunny
I like the sound of your routing having driven some of it myself. Nothing like a quiet sweeping A or B road for great motoring.
We have written off this year now with mog back off the road for an unspecifed period.

Come on Frank - you can't say "with mog back off the road for an unspecifed period" without some detail......

Dave,

pictures looked great, and no disrespect to the track guys,
but road trips are by far the best thing about my Morgan
so far.I have been amazed how much I have enjoyed that aspect
of my Morgan.
