part 2! using swmbo's for a couple of days and a shock on the scales has got me realising that I am not as fit as I was kidding myself and far more sedentary. So i am going to buy myself a fitness watch. question is - which one.

It would be good if it was water proof for swimming and needs to measure heart rate , calories expended, steps taken, floors climbed etc. But then I guess all of them do that.

Any recommendations?

Are you an iPhone user Howard? My Wife swears by her Apple Watch (version 2.0 is waterproof) not just as a fitness tracker but for text/email/social media etc - literally can't cope without it and I have to drop it off at her surgery if she forgets to wear it to work.

Save money get into a routine set aside day/ time each week and do whatever floats your boat take it easy from the start and gradually increase activity. Focus on activity not how to measure it! Good luck.

Plus one.
I don't need an expensive watch to get fit, just eat less, exercise more, stop drinking , cut out sugar.
oh it helped me but diabetes got me first.

Yes I am fitter now than I have been for years but that is due to ghe shock ov being diagnosed with type2 diabetes. I wish someone had told me in my forties that a fat gug meant trouble.

Have a look at Fitbit Blaze . The hardware's solid (I've had mine over a year, with no signs of wear). Software is good, and gets regular improvements to the phone & watch.

The battery lasts over 4 days, maybe 5 if you're feeling lucky (depending on settings).

There's a good range of strap options.
& it's often mistaken for an apple watch, which costs 3 times as much

Also, it tells the time.

The Withings/Nokia ones are good, watch for offers, never pay full price.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
