Just make sure there is no chassis damage behind the bent panels.

My jaundiced view is that all Companies which the owner does not have hands on interest are run by Idiots, the larger the Company the more idiots and hence poorer service.

Fortunately, the damage is restricted to the sheet aluminum, as it occurred in the section that juts a few inches out from the chassis tube.

You would be doing yourself a disservice if you replaced the body. I believe you would create more issues than you would resolve.

This damage is very repairable and you will not be reminded of its damage once fixed. If it were up on the top of the body someplace, it may be a bit different.

The lower beading can be straightened along with the lower side sheet aluminium.

I think you need to get a bit more though than having it "just repaired".

In response to the original question... no, you get what you pay for. Sure, accidents happen in any situation but using Ubid ( or something similar) is crazy. Using the companies that owners of super cars use is a far different experience.

This is not always true. What is always true, however, is that you don't get what you don't pay for.

This was a top rated shipping company, on Hagerty's recommended list and I paid top dollar for this not to happen. As a matter of fact many Pebble Beach entrants use them.

Very upsetting but that does mot look like a difficult repair. Unless it is a metallic paint the touch up after the repair, if done well should be invisible. If the paint is metallic, and it doesn't look like it, it would need extensive paint work.

As it is it looks like a straightforward repair, should not cost the earth, and the shipping companies liability insurance should pay for it. Since it is clear negligence they really can not deny responsibility.

Relax, be happy, get it fixed, and go for a drive.

Fortunately, the paint is just standard sport black. The shipper seems willing to pay and I'm working through my insurance company too.

I temporarily relocated to Dallas, Texas, so I don't have any idea where to bring it for repair. I'm wondering if a high end motorcycle restoration shop might be better than a automotive body shop. The nearest Morgan dealer is 800 miles away. 😒

I'd be very grateful if anyone could recommend someone in the Dallas area!

Just make sure you get someone who is specialised in Aluminium as it shouldn't be done in the same shop as still work
