To be quite serious we hardly ever get water in our 2012 car. Occasionally in heavy rain at 120 to 130 kph a drop sneaks through the middle of the easyup hood rail just above the mirror. We used to get a drop come in at the top of the windscreen pillars but a little pad of neoprene fixed that (thanks Dave).
We also used to get a drop sneak in through the cable grommets from the ECU box above the right footwell. A neoprene gasket fixed that.
Also had a couple of problems after the windscreen was replaced but that now seems to be resolved. It may have been coming in past the bonnet hinge screws, or the hole for the windscreen heater wires.
Basically if any water is coming in I want it fixed.
Peter

Howard, I have waterproof trousers with insulated lining for keeping warm in cold weather, bought from Rohan. Excellent for roof down cold weather driving and no need to stop to put the roof up in rain, unless it’s heavy. They look like regular trousers too, not out and out waterproofs. I buy Rohan gear when they have sales as they are not cheap.

Stuart, Dave W's neoprene solution worked perfectly for me. Took two layers. And I attached it to the hood rather than the frame, so that it looks ok with no hood.
Cheers Nick

Stuart, my first Mog way back in 2003 had a 9 stud hood. I don't remember bad leaks like you describe. More would comein via the sidescreens
But I do seem to remember that the front of the hood had a padded area to press against the hood rail.
I also had manual hood tensioner levers that really put the hood under tension. They are advertised in Miscellany regularly.

stick a length of P section draught excluder to the top of the screen - stops any water coming over the top on both traditional and easy up hoods. If it stops Irish rain then puny UK stuff hasn't a chance!!!!!!!!!!

Why not be practical and drill some drain holes in the floor boards? Alternatively you could fit a bilge pump like https://www.marinesuperstore.com/marine-pumps/bilgebut if you do so, dont forget to fit a sea cock to the discharge hose.

I hate to say this but most modern cars don’t have this problem. Morgan now has a team of graduate design and construction experts. Do they just sit on their backsides playing computer games all day or are they still using the HFS abacus?
