After investigating the crack in the offside superform wing in May, I wish I had ignored the crack and had the summer off. I could have had some good driving and then on the arrival of storm Brian started the wings off re-spray project.

Crack in offside wing
‘Example of paint blisters’ the car had about a dozen areas of small blistering, this was one reason why I chose to re-pray all four wings and the main body panels’
But no I could not wait, and after a very frustrating four months it is finally finished and looking very good indeed.
Wings offThe original colour was a BMW Metallic Avus Blue, but being a Morgan two tone colour fan I decided to go for leaving the body in Avus Blue and changing the wings to a darker blue, almost Black.
Thanks to Peter (Aldermog) and a post on his ‘Zurallic Blue’ Roadster I decided on trying a BMW Pearlescent ‘Azurite Black’ for the wings. This however turned out to be way too black so instead went for the BMW Metallic ‘Imperial Blue’ which complements the ‘Avus Blue’ of the main bodywork very well
I painted the main body myself
Wings going back on
End resultI am very happy with the results. The Imperial Blue is deceptive as the colour changes with the light, as you can see in the photo. Taken in bright but overcast conditions, the wings are almost Blue-Black, but in brighter conditions, the blue colour comes out more.
This is my first posting using TM-image hosting site, good work guys.
