I too think that there are two gallons left in the tank when the warning light illuminates - based on only being able to squeeze nine gallons back in on the several occasions it has happened to me

The Plus 8 has BMW electrics including fuel tank sender, pump, etc. It has a fuel gauge that is accurate, displaying both graphically and as a percentage, to the point that I trust the information as I do in any modern car.
Really?? Lucky you.... my gauge is wanders all over the place. I tend to zero the mileometer, brim the tank and then think about fuel at 200 miles.

My older car is not too bad at all really until you get to the quarter mark I fill up then and get around 40 Litres in.
