Budster
He came past my marshal point in Aberhirnant on Saturday morning as smooth as silk. Absolutely impressive considering Ogier and Tanak were all over the place! Ogier got it so out of shape coming out of a 90R that he nearly dropped a wheel in a culvert!
Arwyn We all gave Elfyn a wave and cheer as he came past us outside Wen’s sons pub The Sportsmans Arms near Brenig......Ogier pulled in to change his wheels.....and made a right mess of the grass in front of the pub! Amazing car.

On Hamilton, the BBC's Andrew Benson has just posted an article which gives a good account of what he's achieved. A well deserved win Lewis and looks like he plans to give us many more. http://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/41797613

He is a very good driver and has matured in his driving style for such a young man clearly.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Its a shame that Elfyns victory seems to have been overlooked by most of the media.
Arwyn I agree it's a shame that that two great motor sport events had to clash. Congrats to both of them. makes me proud to be Welsh and British.

Arwyn My partners son and wife took it over in Spring this year....before that it had remained empty for a number of years apart from a brief opening with a Polish family. Now it’s just run as a pub from Friday evening through to Sunday evening and serves food. Leon, who is a keen musician, holds a number of music festivals there as well as usually live music most weekends.

Well done Lewis
A superb achievement and if it hadn’t been for a bit of bad luck, he could have had another 2 championships - in his debut season in 2007, he only lost out by 1 point and I seem to remember a few Maclaren cock ups
What an incredible talent - from racing and winning races with radio controlled cars and going on to Karting as a kid
Coming from a humble family in Stevenage - having his parents split up and no doubt overcoming and having to overcome racial predudice at some point.
I seem to remember an interview where he mentioned he had to move schools because of bullying
And succeeding in a world which is littered with young men with wealthy parents ‘buying’ drives
Phenomenal

Hamilton came across as an arrogant tosser on an interview I heard on Radio 2 on my way home from work tonight. He was talking about accepting a knighthood and how he would enforce that knighthood.

Arwyn could you give us a bit of a clue as to who did the interview and where we might hear it? I haven't been able to find it.
If there are others like me and those who actually know Lewis e.g. Andrew Benson, Alan McNish, Christian Horner, Adrian Newey etc who find Arwyn's assessment a bit harsh then google up Lewis interview this morning with Chris Evans on Radio 2.

I suspect that the likes of Jim Clark and others that many like to place in some sort of pinnacle would not survive the scrutiny of the present media world.
Swanning around in Jaguar E-Types, Aston Martins and Ferrari whilst wearing an Omega watch on one wrist and a girl or two on another arm comes across as only a variation of what is now referred to as 'bling' and a distracted lifestyle.
Personally, I prefer the vibrancy of youth to the curmudgeonly traits that accompanies middle or later age.
The boy's worked hard, dealt with a lot of sh1t, competed with the best and proved his undoubted skill. You don't get to be F1 World Champion four times without talent.
