That's the earlier breadvan style This is the later twin cam, not how the rear wings drop after the cabin and run almost parallel with the engine cover: No, it wasn't mine.

Your 16v VX Breadvan must have been fairly rapid depending on state of tune as those vx engines will go up to 300 bhp !
Hi Max yes, I always liked the XE 16V engines. Both mine were mildly tuned to aprox 200bhp using the QED cams on the existing hydraulic lifters with Jenvey throttle bodies and a MBE ecu. At the time performance was similar to the the normally aspirated Exige. Richard at Bank's own Europa race car was/still is an XE with supercharger and dyno'd at aprox 450 bhp, 450 bhp is a bit mad !!
Geneva 2016 plus 8' The Green Godess' 4 side exits .

I drove one into and out of a workshop. I was working with my dad in school hols and a lime green one came in for minor body repair/spray... You did better than me. I sat in one in a dealer's showroom in Chichester when I was 20, but I think we both knew I couldn't afford it! This might be a good time to say that The Avengers series 6 is currently showing every evening at 5.00pm on ITV4. Steed in his Bentley of course, and Tara King in a Europa. Worth catching for the cars. That's a truly awful model toy of the car

I’ve sat in a couple at Paul Mattys and been slightly tempted in the past but the one thing I don’t like designwise is the strange line of the top of the window frame. It just looks awkward.

I don't recall seeing a real breadvan looking similar. Is there a story here? When I was a kid the Co-op bread van had a short hatchback type window opening through which the delivery man would remove the loaves from a head height shelf. If I Google "breadvan" most of the images I get are of the Ferrari 250 GTO, and the back of that looks very much like the breadvans I remember. I've never heard it applied to the Europa though. ~iw http://phscollectorcarworld.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/british-beef-series-lotus-europa-flying.html The early examples had quite high rear panels leading to the story. I thought it had a similar growth phase to the Aero. First ones were quite different and then things morphed.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I did own this 2006 Lotus Europa S for a time, very different to the 60's and 70's Europa. Only 456 made and the press didn't seem to like them much but it was a fantastic car with plenty of power from the Vauxhall Astra VXR turbo engine and 6 speed gearbox. More comfortable than an Elise and a useful boot. I wish I hadn't sold it.

My brother in law had a Hermes (later Renaultsport) tuned Europa series 2. Amazing device. Two things stick in the memory, apart from the astonishing cornering:
- "Mum, is that a car or a thing from outer space?"
- At a police road block "We are looking for stolen televisions."
