The insurance industry only has itself to blame. Last year, Land-Rover renewal arrived from Churchill. 25% increase. Changed to Saga - at or around the “old” Churchill price. This year, the Saga renewal came with a 25% increase. Gone back to Direct Line at less than I paid Saga last year. I suspect I am now in a 3 insurer merry go round.

But, have you received the myriad of Cruise brochures from Saga?
Sue used them for something and it seemed that once a fortnight, yet another holiday brochure, mostly cruises, fell on the doormat until I complained to them.

Discovered something nasty I hadn't thought through, following SWMBOs little accident with the AMG.

At renewal The Plus 8 insurance went up £120pa and the CLC by £80 pa, the AMG we expect about £150, simply because she is a named driver and has had a "fault" accident. The loading runs for 5 years.

So £1750 over 5 years, excluding any other increases.

Car Insurance is a failed market, no wonder so many are uninsured.

Absolutely. The same thing happened to me when my windscreen cracked a few years ago. The replacement was "free", but they clawed it all back in loaded premiums over the following 5 years.

Not yet - we subscribe to the Magazine (it seemed like a good idea at the time) but are not receiving a lot of mail from them.

The good news is that from May 2018 GDPR kicks in. Companies and charities will have to re-seek approval from us to communicate with us. RSPB have already done this (very well) and have probably expanded their marketing reach by taking a good approach. If (a big if) the ICO get their act together, we can expect to see some large fines in the early days as a couple of rogues get singled out and made an example of.

Not for me. I fixed mine after it went in the Saab, sold it then moved to Australia.

Here road tax and third party insurance are combined in to one sold by the government. If you want fully comp then you buy this on top but at least all cars are tax and insured at a level price.

Same as Germany; the UK system is broken, no one in Government or Industry wants to fix it.
