I received my letter yesterday. You cant buy a new car direct but you can have it serviced. I am not sure mixed messages in business work You can't ask dealers to buy speculative stock in and then sell direct. Its unethical.

It's an interesting exercise, this. If you buy a car from a dealer, they retain all your contact details for their purposes. Same if you book in for a service or buy something from them such as an accessory or similar.
I'd be pretty certain that the dealer will retain those details quite close to their corporate chest, and not disclose them to the factory so unless the factory have dealt with you directly, I'm not sure how they will obtain your details..?

The factory didn't have my details, as far as I am aware.... but they clearly do now as I've received the letter too. I am pretty sure B&C wouldn't provide my details in order for the MMC to try and persuade me to come to them for servicing - so it's a little odd.
