Don't forget the change of underwear .In the early 1990s a few of us went to Cadwell . I tried to catch an MGB the sly bugger had a V8 under his lid and said nothing till another lad spilt the beans. But the track is a double track that joins in the middle a good mate in his +8 who thought he was Fangio shot round like a bat out of hell his first time on a track .I was standing with T. Oliver at the point you can split the track . Down comes Mike and all of a sudden he was fighting the car as if it was on a skid pan getting ever to near the crash barriers . At last he was able to stop inches from them . He got out white as a sheet , Tony and I ran over to him as I checked him out he was shaken badly . Tony slipped a plastic human turd on his seat , Mike looked at it and said " no need for that the real one is in my pants" his diff had locked up on him so he said . After getting his mojo back he set off again and this time he forgot he was Fangio .

After getting his mojo back he set off again and this time he forgot he was Fangio . Who among us has not had a near brown adrenalin moment in our days racing. I had a Dolomite Sprint which I raced for a couple of years (actually I had three due to various off's) but the worst was when the universal joint at the front of the propshaft gave up. I felt a wobble. I heard some grumbling and screech noises I heard a lot of metal banging (prop on body etc) It dug in and gave me an unexpected vertical component to my motion I ended up on the roof with hardly a panel straight. The view through my helmet went white, very odd experience. Didn't expect snow on the weather forecast. Turns out the Foamex went off. Then I went unconscious for a bit. Adrenalin may be smelly but when you mix it with fear it comes in a variety of colours apparently. I did get the accident of the year award, not much of a consolation in truth

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Sounds as though a couple of bits of steel under the transmission to stop the tail shaft falling on the road would be a good idea.
Must be a very rare occurence though.
