Nice drive yesterday, twenty miles to a friends house for lunch. Nice layer of snow away from the coast, quite rare in this area... was a coward, and kept the hood up...old age,

Cold cold drive to Techniques in Stotfold for annual service. Heater up full, heated seat on full and tonneaux on - warm and toasty. Then home again this evening across most of the world’s salt mine output; in the dark (roof down of course).

We took our 1956 Morgan Plus 4 for a drive so far its done 60 miles since rebuild, its got a TR4 triumph engine and this has been rebuilt too. If I give her a little welly up a hill I'm certain I hear that dreadful gasket high pressure leaking head gasket sound. The head has been torqued down and as I say the engine was rebuilt albeit some time ago. The let downs we get along the way and challenges we face! I guess its head off perhaps a skim and try a new gasket, think I need to check the heights of the liners? Anyone got a race tuned TR4 engine I can drop in? First drive for 2 weeks. The Mog is currently in the old house garage until the new house garage is cleared. Weather too bad to keep her on the drive for extended periods.Started first time.....ctech has kept it topped up. Started as a short warm-up drive Ended up as an hour trip as, for some reason, she didn’t want to turn back! Now back in the garage until next time. Won’t be long. Just realised sospan jnr needs a lift to Mumbles tomorrow An excuse for another shortish run and a coffee or hot chocolate in Verdi’s.
