We went in 2016, stayed at the Otterburn Castle Hotel. Flippin' gorgeous countryside, deserted roads, friendly people. We visited Seahouses, Alnwick, Craster, and a few other places, including a run up the A68 to the Glenkinchie distillery.

You'll love it.

All roads to Bamburgh Seahouses and Beadnell closed in 2018, sorry for any inconvenience caused...access to authorized vehicles only.

Its a beautiful area for touring. I stayed in Seahouses on my Coastal trip via Booking.com.

Bamburgh also looks good. I always check potential venues on Google Maps and Steetview before booking, looking for a safe parking place and ease of access.

We stayed in the Cook & Barker Inn just south of Alnwick. Rooms and food were very good. The only gripe was that there was nowhere to sit to have a pre or post dinner drink apart from at our reserved dining table.

There's a beautiful coastal village called "Newton by the Sea"
with fantastic beach walks to Dunstanbugh Castle, Craster to the South and Beadnell to the North , with Alnwick about 20 minutes drive to the West,
It's a really good place to stay but accommodation is hard to get.

Never away what do you want to know and I will write it all down .
What are you looking for churches, history, castles, villages, battle grounds, caves. When are you coming and how long do you intend to stay. Send me your e-mail address or phone no telling me how long you intend to stay along with your kind of favorite stuff and I will try and send a bit of everything . June and I play up their at w/ends. Bamburgh is just over 75 mins from our house .

Lovely area and natural Morgan territory. We once stayed in a lovely B&B I coudn’t recommend highly enough in Warkworh called Roxbro House. Also, make sure you head out into the Cheviot Hills while you’re there.
