Our club has voted on the issue twice, and the strong opinion is to keep the "Peter" Morgan version for our club badge, rather than the newer "Charles" Morgan. (The use of "Peter Morgan" is shorthand and is not really correct since the design dates to at least the late 1940s when HFS was still CEO.)
But for our special 100th Anniversary badge we decided to use the Charles version on a one-time-only basis.

I much prefer the original version too and saw no reason to change it, the modern version is too much like the Mini.

I understand that they wanted to have a new design that they could register as a trademark/copyright, but I can't help thinking they could have done a bit better - maybe the issue wasn't so serious that they wanted to spend a significant amount on getting a new design?

I much prefer the original version too and saw no reason to change it, the modern version is too much like the Mini. It seems like a simple attempt to close the gap between Morgan and BMW to me. The best that can be said is that it wasn't a very imaginative change.

Has to be the original one always reminds me a bit like the Bentley badge. The latest one looks like a moustache . Its a lot of years ago when the black paint started to come away , so I removed the badge and its black paint . Then painted it with the oil based paint the mog was sprayed . It never budges and think it blends in with the car .

The original chunky Morgan cowl badge from the 1960's gets my vote. Can't stand the new one.

I prefer the style which preceded the current badge. On the 4/4 Anniversary I fitted the previous style, but unfortunately on the Plus 4, the badge had left a mark in the paint, which would show if the older style was fitted. Had I thought about it I would have asked them to drill the cowl but not fit the badge at the factory.

I remember when the new style badge was introduced at the 2009 Centenary. I couldn’t work out why MMC felt the need to change and I am glad that my 4/4 carries the older design. I have once successfully refurbished some of the black areas with Humbrol enamel, a very fine brush and a lot of care.
