Actually I'm not. I'm bored this afternoon.. Jays has a life again, a lesson for many. I'm bored too. I've just finishing cataloguing all my 1970s vintage Humbrol paints. Why, you may ask? I've returned to making Airfix Kits, something I stopped doing when we got married.... Peter , a very sensible organised thing to do , I had to dump mine years ago as they dried up and I changed hobbies , but would like to get back into making some Tamyia maybe stuff !

This is an example of what i'm up to.  I started making this one in 1973.... Should be finished very soon. Enjoyable and relaxing, when the weather isn't compatible with driving Tarka, gardening and so on..

1/32 Revell.
I've given up 1/72, my eyes are not up to it.
I bought the kit in Houston, TX in the summer of 1973 when I was there as an exchange student for 6 months. I got the basics done, then back home hand painted the RAF roundels, using a bow spring compass for the outline, and filled in by hand. There it stopped, sat for 44 years in plastic bag buried in polystyrene chips in a box.
I re-started over the Christmas holiday, it is almost finished: the squadron codes will be the transfers, I'm not up to painting them.

This could be up for a Thread Drift Award Not if our TM buddies are too busy scale modelling I doubt Jays is (too busy travelling the world) but GaB and Graham well might I’m sort of modelling tonight - just started crafting a bonnet belt for the Mog - my work bench looks very like Peters with a green cutting mat seeing some action

Jays and I, from the age of about 9 or 10 to our 30s shared this passion. Now he is settled, relaxed and happy I'm hoping to drag him back. It certainly beats watching much of what is available on TV and is a million light years more constructive than most social media - present company excepted! Models in the Winter, Morgan in the Summer: what could be better??
