Nobody got anything to say about the 100 best walks on TV last night . Some crackers a bit of walking will do us all some good . Been on a good few . That chap with his hands and feet missing puts us to shame and the man with dementia saying it helps him out as he never forgets the route up and down . Used to take the dogs out in all weathers but they returned like scruffy pigs, if there was a clean path and a wet filthy one they would play in it . Now off to see about some mog work done .

Typical council tv superficial twaddle.
But useful for knowing which walks to avoid. High scorers very popular and crowded.
Not many in the West Country. Lets keep it that way. grin2

I had it on in the background for about half an hour an it seemed little more than a superficial list with an occasional "celebrity" talking about their favourite walk for a few minutes. I have the whole thing recorded but I am not rushing to look at it.

Which won?

Haven’t seen the programme yet but one of my favourite wals that i did for my 50th was on my doorstep. The Sandstone Trail starts just two miles from us in Frodsham and is 34 miles of the sandstone ridges of Cheshire down to Whitchurch. Stunning countryside and makes a nice two day walk.

We love walking and if we are shooting off away chuck our stuff in the car . So watching for scenery from all the UK left us with ideas . Well worth watching if you are an outdoor person . The winner was Helvellyn . But the Highlands every time nothing else like them, its the spiritual silence that talks to me.

100 walks in 150 minutes with adverts is a lost opportunity. It could have run a series with proper coverage.

But I suppose the audience is limited.

Dream on Dave since when do they think of what the public want . Its how much can we jamb in for the least cost . Even if we do not find it to our liking MAYBE we can still spot a place or two .

A bit like that Drew P last night what a mess that Mk2 Jag looked last night with those alloys what next a Roller with wires . But I was lucky I only caught the tail end of it .

I think the best walk in the country is the SouthWestern way from Minehead to Poole. One of the highlights of my life. Another is the Ridgeway from Tring to Avebury.
