I haven't taken them off yet - maybe in the next week or so - I'll post length dimensions once they're off kankeL

I'm planning to get some Magnacor leads made up.

I'll need to get the measurements this weekend and will post them up.

What should the plug gap be? Today I went for a run cold 3c but dry. On return I washed the car & decided to check the plug gap to see if starting could be improved. The book says 0.97 to 1.07 mm but the ones removed were nearer 0.65 mm (0.025 inch). They are the standard Champion RA8HC copper tip. I opened them up & it would not start. I checked an old plug from last service & it was 0.65 so removed them & closed gap again but still wont start. There are sparks & it seems to be trying to catch after much turning over.
Perhaps my washing made something shorting out. Pushed in to the garage & battery on charge & I'll try again after thing had a chance to dry.

I've measured the leads:

55cm long

90 degree plug at the coil pack end. The internal connector has an inside diameter of 4mm and outside dia of 5mm. The rubber boot ID is 13mm

I couldn't see a manufacturer's name on the coil pack but it had #0313# printed on it.

The Spark plug end has an elbow cap for a 12mm spark plug,

I have a rough drawing but at the moment can't seem to upload it to TM so will add this later.

S & S service manual states .035-.045" withe a torque setting of 11-18ft/lbs and anti seize compound on the threads.

I checked mine today at .045" so closed them up to .040" middle limit.

Started in less than 1 revolution.

Its almost back together again now.

All sorted now & running again. Tried again with wider plug gaps & still would not start so called the AA. We tried swapping plugs & heating them & switch cleaner on the fuel injector connectors but still no go. He them put a meter on the the injector connectors & reckoned they were still damp despite my WD40 application. Dried off & now running again - joy!
Next wash I'll keep the hose away from the top of the engine.
