A well researched story of an interesting character. I loved the spoof of "You are old, father William"

Giles yes, the story appeals in a number of ways. Firstly, Tim's forensic searching for the answer to the mystery of the suitcase. Then the character of Warlow-Davies, the WW2 pilot and dashing post-war racing driver in his new Morgan; and then the shock of his tragic end in the crash of the DC3. There's also the mystery of why that plane crashed, which both Tim and I are keen to know more about. There is the family tragedy of course but also the comfort of knowing that Warlow-Davies daughter and other family members now have those personal mementoes from the discarded suitcase. Tim tells me he is now close to discovering how it ended up in that skip. I think it's a TV documentary. Stay tuned.

Great read, well done,. So sad when these things are just thrown out with the trash. The older I get the less point I see in keeping mementos as the skip is where my old phots etc will end too I expect.
Well done on returning those memories to his family, I can only imagine how much joy that must have brought them after 60 years. 👍🏻🏁

Would love to know if they do ever uncover the story behind who held onto it all those years before skipping it, also fascinating regarding the possible causes of the crash - albeit very much speculation.
