Congratulations on the new ride. Your narrative takes me back to 1973 when I first got my +8. The joy never ends!!

Delighted for you Kev.

The pic looks fantastic even with the Hood up!

Great writing - really got me involved.

And no ...you are never too old to get excited about anything.

It means that you are still alive and in close contact with your emotions.

Enjoy your car - am sure that you will!

Is that one teaspoon per side?

Looks fantastic Kev. Really nice in that Almond Green. I’ve never seen another one in that colour, I wonder how many were done in the series?

The P4SS looks so good that if it had been built with a spare wheel and an easy up I may have gone for one. (In primrose yellow).

Hope you're not bored yet...promise I will settle down soon!!

Couple of jobs done today:

Fitted swivel pivots and practised hood operations..not too bad and I'm sure it will become easier as the material warms up but the swivels work well ..and I thank PaulF for tip with teaspoon!

Degreased front shocks and fitted neoprene covers to keep the c--p of them and fitted Neoprene Dave's gaitors to the lower spring for the same reason..thanks Dave.

Then went for 100 mile drive:

Getting more confident with grip and handling in corners..it just holds on and I'm learning to trust it!!

The 3 turn steering is fantastic and again inspires enthusiastic driving.

You still have to concentrate and actually drive the car which I love.

Love the sound...not as noisy as my modded 4/4 actually but I enjoy the bark of the exhaust and the induction roar.

In fifth gear I dropped to 25 mph and then floored it...it just hunkered down and went !!!...no hesitation or hiccups..a clean progression to illegal speeds!!!

Thanks for your comments and to Peter Gilbert and Peter Bradley for behind the scenes advice

I am under strict instructions by my Dealer to keep the car standard or he will slap my legs!!!

But:

My Grandfather used to trial an Austin 7 special in the 60's and he used to confuse and amuse me as a youngster with the script on his car.

In his memory I have always had this on my " fun" cars
