S & S service manual states .035-.045" withe a torque setting of 11-18ft/lbs and anti seize compound on the threads.
I checked mine today at .045" so closed them up to .040" middle limit.
Started in less than 1 revolution.
Its almost back together again now. I put new NGK Iridium plugs in today with .040 gap which is also what NGK say. Prior to changing it took 10 secs turning, 5 rest, 10 turning, 5 rest then fired after another 7-8 seconds. With the new plugs it fired immediately. Before I get too carried away I'll see how it starts first thing tomorrow morning.

Thanks for info Chris. Will be ordering some. Did Magnecor supply them to you direct as cannot see they normally do mail order?
ETA: just ordered some direct by mail order. Not in catalogue at the moment so dealers won't have them.

Richard. Yes, order them direct. It's a new part number so won't be in the catalogue. They should be able to do blue leads as well if you ask.

Check out here. As I understand it the kits mentioned by Chris employ the KV85 8.5mm cable. Note Magnecor make the OE cables for MMC as well.

Just started to install mine. There are four standoff cable ties holding cables to chassis tubes. If your careful the standoff parts can be re-used with normal cable ties.
There are also plastic P clips each side supporting leads as they come out of igniter box and which appear to be pop-rivetted to chassis cross tube. Will drill out rivets tomorrow and re-rivet P clips on new leads assuming they will accomodate the 8.5mm leads.

The P clips don't fit the new leads well Richard. When I took the old leads off I found they were slightly chaffed from the cowl as it gets very close there. I would suggest you cable tie them a bit more outboard to give better clearance. Not driven with them yet either but it seems to start a bit quicker than before from cold.
