Hi all
I have now had my first ever morgan for 3 weeks .Every time I go out in it I keep smiling . Is this normal ?-also people keep shouting -nice car mate!
Just as serious question - what does the factory build history include ? I am collating its entire history and wonder what this buys

Welcome to the Forum Jon.
The smiling won't go away.
The factory chassis record is a simple certificate. The photo build record is a leather bound album, but not many Morgans have this.
If you haven't been to the Factory, make the effort as soon as you can.

If the car is working correctly the smile should extend to the periods before and after the drive 8^)
Welcome.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

....Every time I go out in it I keep smiling . Is this normal ?-also people keep shouting -nice car mate! Gajet. You will find that you want to take the Morgan out 'just for a spin' i.e. "I must just go out and get some petrol". "I must just pop down the shops". "I must see if the car still makes the same noise". This will go on for some time, and is normal. You will find you will want to take the car out on crisp sunny winters day, when no one else wants to be outdoors. this is normal. young children, teenagers in hoodies, old men, all love Morgans. this is normal. It will take longer to fill up with petrol than a conventional car because everyone will want to ask you about the car. This is normal The best is when attractive young ladies wave, or give the thumbs up (as one did on Sunday whilst driving her Merc - made my day ) remember they are referring to the car and not you . This is normal the smile does not go way. This is normal. Enjoy

Gajet Cleaning the Morgan takes A LOT longer as passers-by stop to chat. This, too, is normal. Never usually happens when I'm cleaning the tin-top - although someone did stop and ask where the Morgan was! In fact, anything that could be considered as madness for a conventional car can be considered "normal" when it comes to Morgan ownership. Just yesterday we were returning from Hampshire along the motorway when a car pulled up next to us and kept pace so they could take a photo!! Regards Alan AP08 MOG

Welcome Gajet, as the others have said, the smile doesn't fade and the attention is always present. As someone on this site said, "the car is the celebrity, I'm just the driver!" As for the build record, it your car had one, I'm sure you would have been given it. There are some examples in the Build Record section ( for example )

Welcome Gajet. I can absolutely confirm that the novelty never wears off. I've had a Morgan of some sort for many years and I still get a buzz each time I climb into to it. I hope you have many years of happy Morganeering David
