Pop down to the factory Paul and let us know whet you find!!
I suspect not, but you never know. I vaguely remember reference to a gear lever extension being used on the +4 but not on the 4/4 ? I drove a +4 demonstrator recently and it certainly felt different to my 4/4.

Just to fill in a bit more info I had a very unusual problem where my gearbox got stuck in 2nd gear. I contacted the suppliers in the UK and they advised me to remove the remote on top of the gearbox. Unfortunately the problem was not in the remote and the gearbox had to come out. Here are some photos of the remote on a Plus 4. The actuating mechanism which goes where the lever normally sits. Opened for inspection. As I could not get the cover off I had to work through this hole in the top and reaching under the sides of the cover whilst it was propped up at an angle.

Peter, if I recall correctly, your Mazda gearbox problem is the only one mentioned on Talk Morgan, did you ever establish the cause of the problem?

Nice shots Peter, I can see the difference from the standard Mazda box now. That remote extension is a big bit of kit additional to the standard box. Looks a challenge to get that old oil out and clean the turret chamber

Peter, if I recall correctly, your Mazda gearbox problem is the only one mentioned on Talk Morgan, did you ever establish the cause of the problem? To quote Vitesse: "The issue was that the shift rods became out of sync, possibly due to gasket/ seal wear but we cannot find any other issue. We have replaced all gaskets and seals as required, including the rear oil seal which was heavily worn." It sounds to me as though there was not really any satisfactory explanation. Hopefully it will never happen again!!!!!!
