Signs of BBC desperation now - Top Gear being plugged in the middle of Country File.

Last nights episode was the best of the season. Laughing out loud at some parts of the TracTor feature until the Stig was brought in, dump him. Maybe they could ask the Edinburgh bus driver who avoided disaster in the snow to drive the GT86.

I loved watching Jack Hargreaves. Being an angler helped. In Wales we had Moc Morgan.....(almost a perfect Morgan name?). He was the Welsh version for outdoor/country pursuits. I did a short teach-in on archery in one of his programs from the Game Fair in Golden Grove near Carmarthen. Taught him to shoot a bow. He did manage one gold so ended as good tv. His son ,Hywel Morgan, became a world champion fly fisherman and also does tv stuff occasionally.

Nice to see old Jack fondly remembered here. As someone peripherally involved with it I'll take this opportunity to plug the DVD... Out of Town volume 1 This bargain set contains the final 35 episodes made by Jack and broadcast in 1980/81. Although no more complete editions exist, a large number of film reels are stored by his stepson and it is planned to release some of these on DVD in the future. One of the current activities is trying to get a licence to use the Max Bygraves theme. ~iw

Nice to see old Jack fondly remembered here. Yes indeed - I remember him from my early years. There's actually quite a funny (well I found it funny) version of Markets of Britain here: https://youtu.be/MWTHbQ2sI0c
