Ireland has long had putative import taxes on cars, just ask any taxi driver. It has a fast rising luxury tax on them as well. It's not as if this is something new or brexit related. I don't think some of the comments are the most helpful?

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Bit confused about which Roadsters pay the £540
My 2010 (December) only costs £305, does that
mean it's an S2 or S3.

It doesn't work like that Ian. Look at the changes in taxation between 2004 and 2007. There were several and some transitional arrangements put some cars two classes below their emission levels.
So Roadsters are all over the place. My 2005 (from memory) is £230.

My S1 produces 226mg /km so £225 more to HRMC.

Dave's car is slightly older than mine which is from May 2006.
The rate changed 23/3/06

Mind you the Polo is £20 per annum & hasn't increased this year.
