A UK based friend has just received his speeding fine and camera photos from Germany. Letter arrived courtesy of DVLA database. He has paid €110. Anyone else received speeding fines from abroad by post, courtesy of DVLA?

No not in the UK.
I did get got going to Brussels & coming back at the Kennedy Tunnel in 1990s when I lived in Holland. The Dutch & Belgian police had a back to back deal.

I guess the obvious, but very boring, answer is don't break the speed limit.
I am super conscious of this as I was "done" for 35mph way out in deepest Norfolk on a bright sunny day with no traffic or people in sight, but I couldn't argue as I was in the wrong.
Now I run dogs and young children over every day because I am fixated on the speedo !! oldgit

As minimum points in UK is 3 they can't add single point that would have been added to German driver.

Plus the fine amount does not match current fines so must include admin costs.

Had some friends flashed in France on the Peripherique only UK drivers got fined in the post our German friend never got a fine in the post. Maybe dvla is more cooperative? I didn't get caught as I was watching what the taxi drivers were doing!

Yes from France. It was a fair cop but annoyingly I've heard that it doesn't work in reverse. Foreign offenders in this country can't be fined in a similar way.
