I run a 70th Anniversary 4/4 and think it wise I fit some locking wheel nuts.

The car is running on the standard 5 stud Dunlop style slotted 15"x5.5 J rims.

Can anyone tell me the size of bolts, or if any club member has updated their 70th, better still a make and model of locking nuts that will do the job.

Thanks

I have had two Volvo v70 and both sets of locking wheel nuts are now discarded due to the common problem of the key tube driver becoming burred and useless. The lock nut then has to be removed by welding on a bolt to remove it. I would give them a miss if I were you.

I would think the chance of a toe rag nicking such a niche item is pretty low.

Give it a miss, I used to make good money removing locking wheel nuts when the owners either lost the keys or butchered them.

Only ever had to resort to the gas axe once to get a wheel off

Seems extreme, given that you can order the key if you take the time to note down its number in your handbook.

Not really, not when you have a puncture on a bank holiday weekend and the main dealers aren't open until Monday and then its a 5 day wait to get a new key in.

It's not worth fitting on a Morgan really.

I ditched the locking nuts off the VW's because the "special" tool was falling apart - it makes life easier.

Thanks for the advice. I will give it a miss although in all my years of using locking wheel nuts I have never had any issues.

I've been meaning to replace the locking wheel studs on the Z3 with plain ones.
