Quite possibly Pandy. But the issue is likely to be price - Lotus prices at the top end are daft. No other word to describe them. They chargebottom end 911 money, and for that I can get a decent F360 manual spider.
We'll see. If I was honest most of this thread came out of boredom and not feeling I wanted to use my toy car with snow and salt on the roads. But spring has arrived. Maybe when I get a few miles on the F type I will fall in love with it. In any case I enjoy the shopping every bit as much if not more than the using.

It's a shame you specified open top Howard, else the new Alpine would have fitted the bill perfectly. You could always fit a sunroof I suppose?

The new Alpine is a interesting car being balanced and almost light weight, offering better access than an Elise, last point is my guess, I have not seen her in the metal.

OK, I'm still worried about your next 'toy' Howard and have been giving it some thought. A Boxster has already been mooted, but I don't think anyone has yet suggested a Boxster Spyder have they. It may be a bit difficult to get hold of one, but they won't lose value, and are a bit more hardcore and definitely rarer than a standard Boxster. If you could buy one new, they are just over £60k, but I doubt you'll find one for this money, but I've always said the cost of a car lies in the money you lose when selling, not what it costs when bought.
What do you think?

I saw the Alpine on a car show two weeks ago and sat in it. It was great... Better than I expected from the magazine pictures.
If I had the space for a second toy car (silly thought, Who needs two toys...😏), this would definitely be at the top of my shortlist.

I think I would rather have an original. I like small cars and they are truly small.

Remind me why a Boxster doesn't fit the bill. It does. I changed from a plus4 having enjoyed about 40.000 miles in it from new. I got a Boxster 718 that has now covered 8000 miles. It's fun. I'd suggest taking a test drive in one.

I did that Bobar. It was the standard model and it had turbo lag that I didnt like. The Jaaag is a nicer car IMO of course.

We have 3 cars, one with twin turbos, one with a supercharger (and water-methanol injection) and one naturally aspirated one. The Naturally aspirated car is best, Turbos have lag, superchargers don't.

Never noticed lag on my Saab 9-3 Peter. But, it was a low pressure turbo, not the higher performance high pressure. The LPT just gave better performance across the rev range, from well below 2000 rpm.
