This appeared in the 3 wheeler register a few weeks back

"0364 - 0315 - Oct '12 - ArchieWetleg. Sport Green. Written off in rollover accident 14-04-2018 CAT S. If it's ever bought out of salvage and repaired contact me for some photos before you hand over the cash. Both occupants OK apart from dented pride."

Possibly this car

Had missed that, apologies to Archie...rolling the M3W doesn't really appeal as a pastime, glad to hear that it was only pride that was hurt though I suspect the wallet will have taken a bashing in the insurance claim too.

A pic of the chassis plate is on the Thames Auto Salvage website and although not very clear the chassis number ends 315 so almost certainly this car.

I guess the roll bars are high enough to protect the windscreens, if not your head...

£5K tops this is a total re chassis, re panel rebuild let alone any engine damage. The labour involved in this will be large and the cost of the bits from the factory I reckon will put this way beyond financial viability.

I'm sure they'll find a dreamer to sell it to.

I do feel sorry for wetleg frown.

I was driving along this morning ( in the 4/4) and the more I thought about it and did the maths the lower the price became.

I am pretty sure the chassis is bent.

Thank goodness wetleg and pal are ok.

I badly misjudged the entry speed of a roundabout and collected a decorative boulder with the passenger side front wheel. It tore the wheel loose from the frame and dented the cowl. The frame was bent, fender destroyed, exhaust pipe kinked, wheel destroyed, shock broken and steering track rod bent.
The car was a 2013 M3W and this happened in 2015.
My dealer convinced my insurance company to fix it. Parts came to $13k and labor was about $12k. I upgraded to a Centa Compensator and Spax shocks on my own dime.
I would not touch a wrecked M3W except to part it out.

Most excellent advice and very applicable to this 2012. Having just replaced the frame on mine and noting the differences I would not trust this chassis any further than I could throw it! The front end clearly got clobbered and the frame in that area is already wanting.

Parts indeed.

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.
