Could the accident/rollover have been triggered by a sudden steering alignment issue caused by a crack in the chassis suddenly getting worse?

If it has such a chassis failure then it should not be an S. Only an experienced M3W person would be able to see this, which is why the insurance company made it an "S", not a B.

I'm glad this is finally out in the open.
I'll put you all in the picture.
My daughter and I were out for a drive on April 14th. It was a lovely sunny day, shortly after rounding a bend we hit some standing water with the left front wheel, this pulled the Morgan 90 degrees to the left. We rolled hit a bank and and then flipped over.
Upside down with our heads touching the grass verge we were able to extricate ourselves from the drivers side. Fortunately we were both relatively unhurt. I suffered a cracked/bruised rib, I assume from the seatbelt. My daughter had seatbelt burns and a few thorns in her arm. Most of her injuries came from trying to go to the toilet in the bushes whilst waiting 3 hours for the recovery vehicle.
The M3W was insured with Heritage Insurance and I can't praise them enough. I had an agreed value of what I paid 18 months ago and after inspecting the car Heritage paid out less my £150 excess. The M3W was classified “Total Loss” New Cat “S”. All sorted in 2 weeks.
This was my first at fault accident since passing my test in 1978, at least I broke my record spectacularly.
Sadly there were no similar M3Ws for sale and the cheapest appear to be around £38K, so it looks like I won't be using my tickets to the Hill Climb.
I was offered the chance to keep the wreck for £6k after talking to the loss adjusters and Phil at Allon White I decided to pass. The vehicle was recovered to a salvage company on Canvey Island where it was sold at auction for £12k5. Today I noticed an eBay advert for £22k.
The front wheel took a big hit and has broken spokes, both the exhausts are broken and bent, wing mirrors broken, rear lights smashed, random bit of wood poking out between drive belt and I assume the chassis bent. Quite truthfully there is not a panel that is straight. The engine would have run upside down, so I imagine oil would have got passed the piston rings.
As I said on the “Register” page, if you are thinking of buying out of salvage contact me as I don’t think the description on eBay is very accurate.
I'm sorry my M3W ownership ended this way, every time I opened the door to the garage I used to smile, nothing can come close to the fun I had driving it.
Would I buy another one? yes absolutely with extended rollover hoops, although Mrs W is not so sure.
Sorry if I've let you down as a community but hopefully I can still follow your exploits.
I don’t know if the 2 tickets to Thrill On The Hill Sunday event at Prescott and 1430 Hill Climb on Sunday are transferable, I won’t be needing them now.

Like all others I am only grateful that you and your daughter are both ok.

It could so very easily have been much more serious for you both from your description of what happened - what shock.

So your God was looking after you.

Who knows you may be a Morgan owner again in the future.

Archie well done telling your story publicly and thank God you and your Daughter got out relatively unscathed. What an horrific experience it must have been with no roof over your head.

Very glad to hear that the injuries were relatively minor though a broken rib can feel anything but minor at the time and for a while after.
You've definitely not let me down and I don't think anyone on here would think that anyone has been let down. Hope you an get sorted out with another one but totally understand how difficult that can be the way the new prices have gone.

We were just discussing this at Brooklands this morning - It's strange how these salvaged cars come around again but with a totally unrealistic price - if it gets parted they'd be a few M3W owners interested in parts I'm sure, but to expect to be able to get this back on the road as is, for a reasonable price seems an unrealistic statement.

I hope you get back into the 3 wheeler world soon - you know you'll miss it.

Very good news you are both OK.

If you passed at £6k then 22k is ludicrous and hopefull nobody will be suckered in.

Thank you all for your kind words and sympathy.
Looking at the eBay advert again today I've raised a complaint about the description.
I know it's not the approved forum to post this on but I have an Urban Cooling Fan which I now have no need for. It was purchased from Brands Hatch Morgan after having to pull on to the central reservation of a dual carriageway during a traffic jam. I also recovered the tools/tyre repair kit from the boot.
I'll post an advert on the appropriate page.
