Hi,
Help needed please.
I have been having trouble for a while with my indicator stalk. If I have my fog lights on and then indicate right or left the fog light goes out. Today the left turn indicator is now only working intermittently. I have just taken the covers off the column but cannot see how to take the switch off. Does the steering wheel have to come off first? Help appreciated. Also anyone know who makes the switch, part number etc.
TIA,
Peter

Heinz can tell you chapter and verse I'm pretty sure it's Disco based and readily available - I think the wheel will need to come off it did on my 1994 Plus 8 when I changed it out.

Knowing the lack of earth /negative points on a Mog it's far more likely to be a connection fault at the light fitting - what you describe is the faulty light scavenging some power from another feed

I suggest you check all those first, before you tinker with the expensive Column Stalk

It should be a Land Rover Discovery part (lucas).

They are very easy to replace and you do not have to remove the steering wheel. Undo the fixing screws and pull unit towards you being careful to release the connector on the bottom right of the switch and another on the top.

Part number is STC 4017 and are readily available.

Hi Jon,
Didn't explain the problem fully enough, but I am 95% sure its the switch and apparently they have been giving problems in the past. Thanks SS I have ordered one STC 4017 new part number = SQB 160. After much deliberation it came off very easily with a little help from youtube.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Bernd,
Not a brilliant video, but it saved me taking the steering off unnecessarily
