First Weekend

Hi All,

as promised - here are the first pictures of my Plus 8 out in the Austrian wilds.

For saturday we went for a more relaxed drive to Melk along the river danube. ~ 250km in total (~3,75h) one stop at the Stift Melk for using the facilities and having a quick walkaround.

Today we started a bit earlier for one of the more popular bike trails through the Lower Austrian mountains to Kalte Kuchl and back via various fun roads. ~ 190km (3h) in total, one stop at Kalte Kuchl for ice coffee.

The weekend was gone far to soon and the car performed excellently.

Incidents so far:
- sunburn
- previous owner glued the British license plate to the car, thankfully Mr Koessler happened to be in the office and improvised something for me
- after the first 15km all instruments showed a reading of zero except for the revs. After parking at home shopping for some cold beverages and returning to the car everything went on to work again, though
- noticed a faster blinking frequency of the left indicator during the final ~50km of our tour. went around the car to check for a broken bulb, however all indicators worked as to be expected. will look into it next we.

Especially loved the flexibility of the V8 engine - you want to save petrol? Drive everything in 4th gear. You want more sound? Downshift to 2nd/3rd while driving through town. wink

Basically the number plate in the back is only hold in place by duct tape on top of the original UK plate. We will need to apply a lot of heat so the original plate can be taken of without damaging the paintwork.

The wonky front plate is due to the fact that the wholes for the UK plate dont exactly fit the holes for the Austrian one. I will get a prettier, permanent solution anyway as I have to use one license plate for my daily driver AND the Morgan. So I will need some solution that is pretty and allows me to easily switch the plate between my BMW and the Plus 8.

That beeing said I just didnt want to wait and take the car for a spin. wink
