As you say, bugger... It will be eminently fixable but no doubt a few things to check just in case they've taken too much of a knock. Good to hear that nobody got hurt and that's what really matters.

Certainly not as scary as aquaplaning at 60 mph.

That is a damn serious failure - thank goodness the shocker held on.
Is this a known failure area or another one for the list.
CMB, Good to hear you are OK.

Glad to hear nobody was hurt.
I don't know how old your car is but early ones had a problem with weak wishbones .Autocar had a nasty accident on a track when one failed .My car spun as I entered a roundabout when one bent. I've often wondered how many are still driving round with original ones fitted . Morgan denied there was a problem in normal road use , I was somewhat amazed when I was initially asked to pay for the replacement although they offered to pay the labour... My then dealer also said he hadn't heard of any problems but I then saw a stack of wishbones in the parts department so assumed they were being replaced as cars came in without an official recall .

So even the later ones had dodgy wishbones.
Now that really does inspire confidence!!!!!!

I can't say - probably just bad luck (but it did mean that a straightforward trip to Mont St Michel this morning cost €130 in taxis rather than €10 in petrol).
Let's see if MMC accepts this as a warranty claim.

Agree with Keith - quite a worry.
The EVO incident was kept as quiet as possible .
But MMC did offer to replace ( " for owners who might want to use cars on track or more spirited road use") . They did my 2012 car.
But to see this on a 2016 car is cause for concern.
I would hope that MMC themselves would want to investigate.
Just happy that you are ok - thank goodness.
