I have had a sore back for a couple of weeks after heavy gardening/golf. The Wicked Welsh Weekend was wonderful. Many miles driven and my back is MUCH better. Maybe the massaging effect of a Morgan suspension did the trick.

Not necessarily. I have a track record of keeping cars for over twenty years. So now at 65......ahem! As the time left to you gets shorter, the need to try everything before the bathchair gets greater. Now thats really cheered you up hasnt it?

Alvis Car Company (I thought they had become defunct in 1967, apparently not!)
The Alvis Car Company are manufacturing to special order a limited number of famous Alvis models. They are faithful to the original design and by using our Works Drawings from the period they retain all their traditional character and quality, yet are emission compliant. They have been designated the Continuation Series.
I have made contact with Alvis as that Grabber coupe and cabriolet look lovely. However, the Park Ward drophead is the starting point of the range, base price £190,000 which is slightly more affordable than the Graber Coupe at £246,000 abd £268,000 starting point for the cabriolet. The rest are more expensive. Hope to pop down to the factory to take a look shortly.

I think the market is close to being flooded. Hardly a week goes by without another special edition or limited run. I appreciate that the factory want to try and get away from the old fart/odd ball image that goes with the car, but lets face it, if you're buying a Morgan you're a bit strange!!!
Lets be honest, the cars are poorly built from low standard/cost components, appeal to a minority market and are astronomically expensive for what they are. Balancing the supply against demand is something MMC do well. However the tendency to maximise price and minimise supply results in very few young potential owners now being able to afford even the entry model. Having almost doubled its prices over the past ten years MMC could easily end up in the railways cul-de-sac of expensive ticket for cancelled service.

What you forget is that they are bought by people with enough spare cash around to buy and run one purely for pleasure - most owners being as characterful and quirky as the cars themselves. One thing all the owners will not tolerate is being told what not to buy and why because they are free thinkers .. You are a convert too so you know the emotion they are capable of stirring, I have to say 130,000 smackers for the 50 year celebration cars seems a bit rich though but they are handsome and had I the funds I would have one in a heartbeat the Brooklands screened one of course.

I can't deny that I am indeed a convert. I too might part with that many smackers for the Brooklands screened one. Equity release perhaps? Swap bricks and mortar for another tangible asset? Now that's a pipe dream.

It is surprising to watch a lot younger passengers struggle to get in and out though .. That was me trying to get in and out of Phil Royal's at the NEC. I'd turned 40 the week before and the week before that I'd just been ran over. I'd have still struggled regardless.
