Following a severe rush of blood to the head, I am the proud owner of a 2013 3 wheeler.

I am now realising the number of mods carried out to these cars over the early years and trying to figure out what I have got and what I haven't got. The two items I am unclear on is the compensator and the NVH kit. Is there an easy way to tell what design level of compensator is fitted and if an NVH kit is fitted ??

Other than that, so far so good !!

I think it will be interesting - I received a standing ovation driving past a pub over the weekend. That was certainly a first for me.

Get used to the instant stardom - everybody loves a Morgan and the M3W will have you down as a little crazy or at least eccentric.

Unlike the prestige posing cars there is never any jealousy shown to these cars and the added bonus of being let out of side roads and generally treated well by others on the road . thumbs

p.s. Please read the aquaplaning thread by way of education on these little beasties, there have been some very seasoned M3W owners caught out in the wet.

Welcome to TM.

Am sure that you will enjoy your M3W a great fun car.

The NVH kit will be clear to see underneath your bevel box.

It's basically a metal cage affair.

Do not worry if you do not have this - by all accounts it does not make that much difference to BB noise.

Now the Compensator. This is important to have had the upgrade.

Really you need to check with previous owner/s or your dealer.

The new rubber roller version is " hidden " inside the Ali surround.

I am not aware of how to check easily.

Others with more recent expereince might be able to help.

My car was a 2012 version and I had the upgrade done when the original failed.

You are in the right place here for help/ advice and friendship !

Welcome to TM. Hope you enjoy your new pride and joy.

There is a wealth of knowledge on here - someone who can answer your questions will be along soon. You do have the option of consulting Williams Morgans who are not too far from you.

Could I suggest that you re-post this on the M3W section of this site? There are loads of early adopters with a great deal of knowledge there. But yes - the initial compensators seem to have failed regularly. As for the NVH kit, some have felt that it has done more harm than good and that the upgrade produced by Phil Bleazey (you will find the threads) is superior.

If they have not been upgraded, check out the sprocket, chassis strengthening, lower wishbone, Centa Drive (or Bleazey alternative), replacement of crimped hose/line clamps, and exhaust bobbins. There are no doubt others that slip my mind, but the experts in the TM M3W area will put you straight.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome

So far I can confirm that the sprocket has been changed, it has the bolt on chassis strengthening, the empire steering kit and cooling kit. Now need to add hose/line clamps and exhaust bobbins to the check list.

Having taken it for a short test drive on a cold day, I was a bit surprised at how much noise it can generate on longer drive on a hot day once I had bought it and needed to drive it home - hence me wanting to understand the NVH kit and compensator design level. Ear plugs and crash helmet may be cheaper though.
