The only experience I have had with similar results was driving a Polo on a family outing onto the Moors via Plymouth, just past the Sainsbury's roundabout there is a pedestrian bridge over the road and I noticed some teenagers seemingly walking. The next thing is a loud bang and the screen has impacted as one of the little bastards has dropped a heavy object from the bridge and it hit the passenger side where my Daughter was sitting.

Recovery truck home and screen repaired in the drive the next day.

Just before Xmas, he had stopped at a crossing and a drunk was weaving his way across taking his time and singing. The rep blew his horn at which point the drunk turned round and hurled the frozen turkey he was carrying through the windscreen

I had an air rifle hit on my first BGT on the way home from work one night. It hit the rear wing just below the chrome strip and made a perfect indentation but didn't go through.
