Given the hysterical reaction in the media anyone could think it was the first match Germany has ever lost - unbelievable..

If any nation knows about being knocked out in the early rounds it's England.

I must admit that the offer of a picnic supper on the beach at Budleigh Salterton, overcame my watching of the footie this evening.

Bell ringing practise this evening was quite interesting in the village as the pub adjacent (under new management) the church decided to show the match outside on a telly in the beer garden to a crowd of around 80 laugh2

Bob is your robot lawn tickler any good then ? Since we levelled off our banking and put in some small grass areas it has been annoying. It takes longer to get all the trimmer/mower/brush out than it does to cut the damn thing. I was looking at a robot to remove the issue but they are not cheap.

Any feedback ?

When I do cut a small piece of lawn, high up in my steeply sloped back garden, I use my Echo petrol strimmer!

23cc 2 stroke - can be tricky to start, but huge fun and it revs superbly.

woohoo

Never needed a robot mower, but an RC controlled one would be fun.

When we stayed at La Ferme du Verte earlier in the year, I noticed they had a robot lawn mower. When I mentioned it to Madame Bernard, she declared that it was her 'new best friend', she absolutely loved it.

So long as there's a single contiguous area of relatively smooth grass I reckon they'd be brilliant, no good for us though as we have loads of smaller lawns on different levels.

I'd agree with that but they can handle slopes up to about 25 - 30 degrees. The biggest hassle is laying the surround wire.

Last night's match was dreadful; 90 minutes of my life that I'll never get back. Mind you, I'm OK with the result. It puts England and France on opposite sides of the draw, so that a world cup encounter between the two (one of my worst nightmares for keeping order in the pub) is highly unlikely.

It has to be said, I'm looking forward to tomorrow's France vs Argentina match.

For once, my English punters will have no difficulty in supporting France.

What a fantastic match between France and Argentina today. Brilliant.

I hope Diego Maradona cries all the way home.
