So, I assume that the rear disc handbrake issues that some Cosworth cars had is sorted? A bracket mod the fix if I remember correctly?

No problem fitting as aftermarket, but I'm not sure can be done as part of standard production. Needs someone who knows the rules better than I. Aero Racing can certainly fit them, but that would come under aftermarket AFAIK.
And before anyone chimes in with their electronically controlled settings on a modern, that's different to fitting separately adjustable items that a new user could err, make a hash of...

The type approval document I've seen dated 21/12/2017 essentially covering the 5 link rear suspension changes for Roadster mentions only front discs and rear drums under the brake section. Wishful thinking but maybe there are more recent approvals covering brakes for this model.

I was referring to the adjustable shocks when I wrote that Richard.
The MSCC's magazine editor, in the road test that started this thread, seems to think rear disc brakes will be standard. I will query my colleagues and possibly sales on Tuesday. smile
After all, if there is a change it would help not to give the wrong info when conducting a tour smile

You still can’t get away from the short suspension travel of a Morgan but it gives a much more controlled ride and is well worth the expense.
It also sorted out my sagging rear springs!

John, how would you compare the ride and handling of a fully sorted Roadster, such as Nero, with a Aero Plus 8? Ignore the power difference....!

Like chalk and cheese Peter. Yours being the cheese and a tasty crumbly Lancashire🤓
The Aeros have a far more controlled ride and handling....Nero still has to cope with short suspension travel and a very crude front end!

Sorry for the confusion Graham. Would welcome any insight into the latest mechanical spec changes for Roadster though. Very encouraging re the magazine article. cheers

The handbrake issues were never really resolved on the Cosworth cars, even with a change of bracket the handbrake barely works, so it will be interesting to see what they've done to make it work on the New Roadster?

Does this help?

I appreciate that ARP4 owners never really had a say in the matter, but honestly I fail to see why anyone would feel the need for disc rear brakes on a road-going trad Morgan?

It's hardly as if the standard cars are underbraked, and even if one did want better stopping power surely it's the fronts that should be upgraded as they do nearly all the work anyway?

Like the fascination with using low-profile rubber bands instead of decent tyres, I strongly suspect this is another aspect of the "Race cars have them so they must be good for road cars" fallacy.

It's one of the comments used during tours Tim - lightweight cars, drums provide sufficient braking on the rear.
I understand circuit racers wanting rear disc brakes as they cool faster than drums.
I haven't driven a 3.7, so can't really comment on the front brakes.
