No, we do have swear words but the short ones tend to be versions of Ango-Saxon and the Welsh ones tend to be a bit long ( sane thing as French- why use a single word when a clause will do!!)

Don't forget the stop at the Loch Fyne Oyster and sea food restaurant!!!!

I used to ride this road on the bike every week when i worked in Helensburgh, i would love to drive it in the Morgan!!! Frank did you ever drive along the A82 to Tarbet and then the lochside road to Tyndrum (an excellent cafe there called the Green Welly Stop)You can then choose to either carry on to Fort William and Oban or turn off and follow the back road to Inverarie?

Happy days laugh

I noticed the number of views for this thread was over 2300 so I had a quick squint at other popular topics of discussion in The Malvern Arms to see what makes Talkmorganeers tick.

The most viewed thread in recent times seems to be the one that threw you all into a dilemma: What if you could have only one car? (3485 views). That just doesn't bear thinking about so I'll skip over that. I assume most of us are fortunate enough not to be in that position anyway.hide

Strangely enough the great stainless Rolex debate was near the top (2732 views). So we all have a view on watches. Co-incidentally I plummed for a stainless myself so there must be something to it. Lets say we admire a bit of quality when we see it.

Number plates were next (2616). Now we are starting to look a teeny bit vain but at 2944 views the thread on speeding convictions has convinced me that we don't like having our photographs taken. Lets say we just like to stand out from the crowd then.

So my tireless research based on the most popular threads shows the ideal day for a talkmorganeer has to be: a blast down a volcanic ash free road (at or below the speed limit) in a green SLR wearing a stainless Daytona en-route to buy a nice (but not too expensive) number plate on Simon's birthday.

I should get out more.

Interesting that a Belgian has a favourite place to stay in Abergevenny! Obviously it's worth a visit.

What we need now is for one of the TalkMorgan organising types to arrange a mass drive along a selected route with a stay in a nice hotel at the end of it. It's probably been done before but judging from the number of " Just Getting Started" posters on this thread it could be time for another one.

Maybe our South Wales correspondent GLLHG could supply some pictures of the route Howard mentioned

if you have mapsource from Garmin i coud you send a file, i have done a lot in Wales.
Abergavenny is a place near ouer factory :-), i have to go there 3-4 time a year.

Unfortunately I do not have Garmin Mapsource, but thanks anyway. I think I'll invest in that book though (BestRides.co.uk).read
