As mentioned in another post the Morgan formerly known as TWP is now resting in a Paris hotel garage after the long run from Vienna to LMC. My co-pilot for that trip, an old aussie motor sport mate, is now slumming it in Paris with his wife. Some of you met Rob at LMC. On Thursday they will head for the UK via Calais and to a cottage in the Cotswolds in order to be at Prescott for the 80th anniversary and Bugatti festival this coming weekend.

If you spot that well worn white Mog (I don't think there'll be many with Vienna plates) please speak strine rather than Wienerish to Rob and Barbara.

After Prescott they will spend a couple of weeks touring in the UK before leaving the morgan at Techniques for a service. I will fly over around the end of July and drive it back to Vienna. So yes, a few more episodes of this travelogue still to come.

I'm writing this to encourage talkmoggers who happens to be at Prescott to make two special people welcome on their first trip to Europe. I know you would in any case but an introduction always helps.

As a conversation starter here are a couple of pics of Rob's current main motor racing mount - a famous Australian special known as The Day Special. The first image is the car being raced by Jack (Gelignite) Murray at Bathurst in 1950 and the second is one I took of Rob racing at Winton Historic this May. Here's to mateship and motor sport.

Kerry, I will be in Hill Control on the Saturday, overlooking the Start Line. I will also be at Prescott on the Sunday, not sure whether I'll be a second Start Line marshal or at my more usual post at Cattle Grid on the Sunday. It's looking like a hot weekend (for the UK smile ).
I may be in the yellow Morgan on Sunday (or the shopping trolley if I've failed to rise early). Probably sit outside the Club Office on Sunday lunchtime to eat.
Looks like an interesting racing car your pal has thumbs

Thanks Graham. If you hear the aussie accent then ask him about the special. It started life as a Bugatti. Cheers and have a great weekend. Wish I was there but there is a domestic life to attend to.

Graham, I guess it depends on how many beers we get through on the Saturday as to whether you get up early enough!

Different event John.
Kerry is referring to this weekend BOC 80th on Saturday and the Garden Party on Sunday, not the Morgan ToTH which is in August smile

There is a NOTAM out for lunchtime over Prescott (12:40 to 13:45 GMT), so pretty sure we will see something from the BBMF either on a flypast or a display. Hopefully find out later when I go over to set up the radio / control equipment. However, aircraft are subject to change at short notice. smile

Seems a Hurricane is booked, however that could well change.
