Thanks very much Gordon.
Yes it was a hard car to sell, cheeky dealer bids and a couple of real and utter timewasters, including one who said he'd have it, I accepted his offer then he started waffling come crunch time.......so annoying.

Anyway, Oakmere stepped up to the breach and even though a dealer proved to me they respect loyalty.
I bought my current Lotus from them and also the Morgan, they gave me a cash offer not far short of what I'd accepted from the waffler so I let them have it......I was happy and I hope they are too and make a few shillings on it.

A lot of dealers just wanted the easy sale or return option.

As for what next? I now have that valuable space in the garage and funds from the Morgan.
I will not rush in this time as I always do. I will be visiting meets and shows throughout the rest of the summer and hopefully a nice little oddball gem will raise its head.......I've a few ideas but will see what goodies come up.

Very glad you did well with you 70th too, excellent result, what do you fancy to replace it with? Many thanks, Kenny

Well done Kenny, it's always a relief when something sells. I'm really surprised it took so long though. Whilst those anniversary 4/4s are a little different, I would have thought that is why it might have appealed.

Anyway I'm glad it's gone to a new home, is the owner likely to come on to TM?

Is an Atom too left of field for you? That or maybe a KTM XBow?? Or, there's a nice blue CSR260 available on the Facebook site. If you buy it, I won't need to be tempted. rofl

Hahaha, How's tricks Paul? Are you still looking for a new toy? Keep us posted on what you get. I did fancy the 7 but such a hard car to value as you'll know. I'm certain it was a minter though and fetched its ask.

Yep, looking back I think the 80th could be a bit marmite for the purist, I kick myself now as there was a stunning unregestered grey 4/4 trad available from Oakmere at 2k less than mine. Wire wheels, full spare, easy up hood etc., maybe I should have bought that instead.......although I personally thought the 80th outclassed it for looks.

Don't think I'd go with an Atom Paul, local mate has one (ex 7 owner too) and he dresses like a biker to use it, can't be doing with that any more.

Thanks for posting, keep in touch.
Regards
Kenny

I’m glad you’ve made your sale, but sad you’re Morgan-free.

There’s no point considering a point and shoot car when you still have your Lotus, nothing betters that. Do yourself a favour and get a 5litre mustang, great fun and cool as a breeze!

On my list are, in no particular order:
Abarth 500
Original Mini
Defender
Enzo
Aero

But not at the expense of anything I have already!

Many thanks for that, appreciated. Yes a bit sad to see the Morgan go but it was one Brit car I'd never owned and I had to put the record straight. Enjoyed the year of ownership even if it would have been cheaper to hire one. grin2

As for the next car to fill the space next to the Lotus? Well I thought I'd bide my time, visits all the shows and meets this summer and try to bag a classic/oddball if I saw one for sale there.

However best laid plans and all that, Garage space lasted 2 days lol.

I was offered out of the blue a complete nut and bolt rebuilt Escort RS Turbo with a 2.1 ZVH stroker motor in it, a fortune has been spent on the car.
In a weaker moment I made an offer and that was that, space filled.

Ah well!!!

Many thanks guys. Only got the Escort back home last night so not many pics of it. Just took a couple now and some yesterday when it was being inspected.

Upshot is a local family owned this car for many, many years, it underwent complete nut and bolt restoration 5 years ago and received a 2.1 all steel high spec engine at the same time, which is not yet run in. It then stood in same spot until last week.
A folly really, I'm going through the huge file now and so far have totted up 21,100 pound in bills would you believe. I have a lot of trim to put back in and need to remove a full cage they fitted for some unknown reason, but it should be super when done. I bought it because of its condition, underside defies belief.

Many thanks again.

Visited Kenny last week to pick something up.
I really love the Lotus so much more room than my Morgan and easier to get in and out.
Kenny had just bought the Ford so didn’t see it but sounded a great car.
A real enthusiast about cars .
