+1 to Nick W's comments on the typos. I'm no language obsessive but MOG's proof-reading is really at such a low level that it gets in the way of the read. It also seems quite a light-weight magazine with the feel of something produced in a bit of a hurry. If it wasn't my only regular Morgan print reading I wouldn't have persevered with my subscription for so long - in fact well before the change to the new 'smaller' format.
Last week I got my subscription renewal notice through. I think I'll give it a miss for a while. Farewell MOG (at least for the moment)..

You must be thinking of a different magazine. MOG has always been the same small format.

I stopped subscribing for a while, but gave it another chance recently for six issues, but it hasn't improved (to a level that make me want to read it) - as far as I can see.
To be honest, the challenge of producing a monthly mag about such a niche product will never work well.
I struggle with my side and a half of A4 for Miscellany....... after nearly 100 columns........

I think you are quite correct Dave. I think however that there's a huge untapped market out there for a general interest Men's magazine aimed at the 45 - 70 age group which isn't full of aspirational lifestyle nonsense. There are loads of 'Men's Health' type mags out there for the youngsters, but I reckon a monthly with a bit of classic car, a bit of woodworking, some home DIY stuff, maybe a feature on trains or planes, maybe some modelling, some decent real ale pub reviews, a museum visit, a bit of photography, that kind of stuff would go down very well.

Octane Mag is the only one I take and have it on sbscription...and I try not to read it all in one go !!!!
Excellent mix of motoring watches planes etc.

Mog mag I have tried and tried but alas no..I can scan content in 10 mins at Smiths...I used to take a fold up chair and a flask but by the time I had set up I could have read the content !!!

Octane Mag is the only one I take Yes, I kind of picture an Octane mag for ordinary blokes, where the stuff in it costs an order of magnitude less - cars for £10k rather than £100k kind of thing. It's all very well having a daydream about stuff that you could only afford if you won the lottery, but I'd rather read about things I've got a realistic chance of getting involved with. I'd never be able to afford to buy or run a classic aeroplane for example, but I'd love to read how some bloke built a radio-control scale model Gypsy Moth in his spare bedroom.
